Urban Sustainability
Sustainable Urban Development
DML is launching its “Indonesian Urban Initiatives” focusing on training and research on urban environmental management and sustainable urban development.
DML has been working together with its sister organisation, YPB (Sustainable Development Foundation) for LEAD Associate Training (Cohort 13) on sustainable city and megacities and climate change. It has been conducted jointly with Tarumanagara University (UNTAR) post-graduate program on urban development.
DML staff has also been participated in train-of-trainers on Sustainable City Programme and Environmental Planning and Management with UN Habitat in Nairobi.
Together with UNTAR, TU DELFT Urban Laboratory (U-Lab) as the official partner of UNTAR will help to provide its teaching modules on urban environmental sustainability and climate change impact, and gives training to university lecturers and senior post graduate students, as well as to government officials and working professionals in this subject.
Given the pool of expertise on sustainable urban development through those network, DML is working together with other municipal government and civil society’s organisations to document good (and best) practices, exploring the possibility to develop and implement ’sustainable construction’ and ‘eco-city’ principles, support and promote eco-friendly urban production and consumption. It is in a process to develop a partnership with other corporate partners in Indonesia and overseas.
